So far MW2 has been making big waves in the pool of competitive gaming. Gamebattles, one of the largest online competition sites, has held multiple tournaments with cash prizes for the champions. Now none of the other tournaments have had the large turnout like this one. The tournament I speak of is the Gamestop MW2 1v1 Tournament. For this tournament Gamestop partnered up with GB to start up the beginning ladders for this event. Thousands of players turned out and now we have 16 left. One of which is John “NoXiDe” Monsalve who will be competing at the live event in San Francisco this weekend. Now gamestop is being a real charmer with this tournament because they are flying out the final 16 players and giving them a hotel to stay in for the weekend. The grand prize for this event is $5,000 for the sole champion of the event. So without further adieu we bring you NoXiDe Z who will be the one man wrecking crew at this event.
Ewalk728: So what have you been doing to prepare for this event?
NoXiDe: I've been doing what every other pro player does. Playing as you normally would just to stay warmed up.
Ewalk728: Are you excited to be going to this event?
NoXiDe: Of course I'm excited, I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome of the whole event.
Ewalk728: Now let’s back up a bit nothing like this ever really happened for COD4, what has changed in the new release of MW2 and the large amounts of tournaments they've had?
NoXiDe: Nothing like this has actually happened before, a tournament fully covered by GameStop? Come on now, with the release of Modern Warfare 2 you've seen the tremendous amount of effort MLG and other leagues has put towards making it as competitive as it can be. What makes it this competitive is the new play of style it now takes.
Ewalk728: Well so far the prize money has been pretty good in its first few months and over a million matches have been played on GB have you had your share in any of that cash?
NoXiDe: Not really. I've been focused on other leagues and now I got my eye on the real prize, I'm going for it all.
Ewalk728: Sounds like a good plan to me. What are the odd of you winning this event in San Francisco
NoXiDe: Well, I think I have a good chance of winning this. As long as I go with the competitive mind, aggressive play style that I'm known for, and as long as I'm focused I'll be bringing the money home.
Ewalk728: Any players you might have a problem with?
NoXiDe: Not really sure, I do believe it's going to be a fair game though.
Ewalk728: So can you give us a little preview of your gameplan for this tournament
NoXiDe: I wish I could but I all of my gameplay from round 2 of the tournament is deleted. I should of made a montage from the gameplay ; )
Ewalk728: You definately should. So is there any way we can watch this event online or something?
NoXiDe: From what I know it will not be live streamed online. All that I know is that the final match will be on GameStop TV.
Ewalk728: Cool cool and what is the schedule for this event?
NoXiDe: Game play will be on 20th of this saturday.
Ewalk728: And when will the finals be?
NoXiDe: Gameplay will be going on Saturday from 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
Ewalk728: So how do you feel about representing Type Z at this event?
NoXiDe: I feel great, I'm going to represent Type Z like it should be done with professionalism at its will. I'm going to go hard and feel like Type Z won't be disappointed at all.
Ewalk728: Any shout outs?
NoXiDe: I'm going to give a shoutout to my mom, I love you ma! Also going to give a shoutout to my fans! I'm going to give a shoutout to my boys from Savage, visit us at TeamSavagePro.com if you haven't had a chance to check us out.
Ewalk728: Sounds good we would like to wish you good luck and be sure to take some pics there and spread the word about type Z
NoXiDe: Sure will. I will also like to thank you guys for the wonderful job you've guys done. Keep doing what you guys do, Type-Z ladies and gentlemen is where it is at!
NoXiDe: NoXiDe Out...
Ewalk728: Well there you go NoXiDe is ready to destroy some gamers in San Fran and we’d like to wish him good luck.
